Celebrating 30 Years of UC Links!
For three decades, University-Community Links (UC Links) has done something incredible: bringing together university faculty, undergrad and graduate students, K-12 educators, and community partners to co-create spaces where learning happens. On February 27-28, the University of California, Berkeley, School of Educationproudly hosted the UC Links 30th Anniversary Celebration & Conference. It was a powerful couple of days dedicated to reflecting on our rich history, renewing our collaborative practices, and reimagining the future of university-community partnerships.
UC Links leadership (Mara Welsh Mahmood&John Cano, Ph.D.) thank the prominent leaders who joined us to honor this milestone: Michelle Young(Berkeley School of Education), Yvette Gullatt (UCOP), Sandra Williams - Hamp(UCOP), and Dr. Dominica Scibetta, EdD(CSU Chancellor’s Office). We were also incredibly humbled to be presented with official resolutions from California Senator Jesse Arreguinand City of Berkeley Mayor Adena Ishii, recognizing the enduring impact of the UC Links program. The energy in our hybrid sessions was truly unmatched. Together, we tackled deeply relevant topics, including: Cultivating culturally responsive practices, Exploring the uses of AI in education, Navigating university-community partnerships during times of crisis, among other relevant topics. Thank you to everyone who made this event so special. It was amazing to foster deep connections with diverse representatives from local California programs, as well as our international partners from Brazil, Germany, Japan, Spain, and Uganda! Here’s to the next 30 years of partnership and impact.
